There will be sign ups at the clubhouse for the 2010 leagues. The leagues will start mid to late May and generally have two 8 week sessions, play one or both, culminating with a multi league tournament/outing. The leagues are self governed and usually run by the league members, Oak Brook will provide support and any other items the leagues need.
Leagues:
Men's: Chair, Bill Weber
Women's: Lisa Caron, last year Lisa ran both the men's and women's leagues providing the players with weekly themes and goals.
Mixed: Bill Weber and Marlene Grossman, this league is only possible with a minimum of 6 couples.
Senior League: Oak Brook would love to have a senior day league and will help anyone who is willing to start/organize one.
League Nights: Traditionally it has been Men=Tuesday, Women=Wednesday and Mixed = Thursday
Cost: If you are an Oak Brook Member there is no cost for the golf only. The power carts are discounted. The league fee will be between 30 and 45 dollars paid prior to the start. The fees are used for administering the leagues and for the end of season outing.
Outings:
Food Pantry Tournament: Last year (2008) Oak Brook hosted an outing for the Get-A-Way Lounge from Manchester. At the last minute the people in the outing decided that a portion of their fee would go to the Weare Food Pantry. The fee portion was about $120.00 that would go to the WFP. At the end of the event all of the prize winners, decided not to keep their winnings, but had Oak Brook Golf donate it in the form of food to the WFP. The donation was just shy of $400.00 and the pantry was elated. My hat is off to the Get-A-Way Lounge as most of them are not from Weare and their charitable attitude in these hard times will not go unnoticed.

Oak Brook Open: Shotgun Start 8AM June 20th 2009, Scramble Format, 4 person teams, sign up at clubhouse. Cost of $50.00 per person, includes full meal at end, golf and power cart, and prizes.
